Therefore, when shopping for your special yacht, the question of construction and service should be on top of the list.

From the drawing board of world renowned naval architect Angelo Lavranos, the Knysna480 catamaran has been expertly designed. Nestled in the popular South-African village called Knysna only 5 hours from Cape Town one will find boat builder Kevin Fouché from The Knysna Yacht Company, where him and his team combines quality and style with engineering of very high standards that ensures reliability, space and safe boat handling. Each boat has been expertly constructed.

We deliver each boat with a high ‘sail away’ standard specification which means that you can go cruising without adding much - except personalization your yacht. Each boat is semi-custom and built to order. We offer two layouts, owners’ version / charter version.

Giant sliding saloon doors invite the crew to enter the best part of a catamaran, the cockpit which feels like an extension of the saloon. One can entertain family, socialize with friends, cook, navigate or simply lounge around. And when necessary, side canvas roll-up blinds have been designed for the cockpit area to protect skipper and crew from the elements.

To “compliment” the cockpit, Knysna Yacht Company has innovatively integrated a strong coachroof the entire width of the cockpit, giving the 480 catamaran a timeless and modern look and to protect friends and family onboard from the weather. Sailing from the coachhouse gives the helmsman opportunity to socialize with guests in the cockpit while views of the sails from the steering position are possible. This is also important for safe docking.

The galley, a chef’s playground, is carefully planned into a gourmet’s delight by the new boat owner while the yacht is in the building process. The views from the saloon allow unobstructed sight forward and aft. Four modern double on-suite cabins ensure comfort and privacy.

Twin engines (40 hp Volvo or Yanmar) ensure better manoeuvrability in harbour. Wide open deck space and aft-walkways ensure safe boat handling and movement.
