The Launch of K480 Free Spirit
Congratulations to Mike and Debbie Bouch on the launch of yacht Free Spirit (Knysna 480) on the 25th November 2010. Mike and Debbie signed a sales agreement in 2008 when Kevin Fouche (Boat builder) was still busy developing the Knysna 480 moulds. Thank you for your patience and your trust in the boat yard, I am sure you will agree that it has been worth the wait! We hope Free Spirit will bring you lots of joy and happiness. Thank you also for assisting us at the CT Boat Show, we really appreciate it, Kevin.

Yacht Meka is the latest Knysna 480 catamaran that has been launched in Sept 2010.
Owned by Elli Peinke the yacht will be the first of the Knysna 480 range available for bareboat or crewed charter in Tortola BVI. With her distinctive lines and sleek good looks, she is going to prove to be a great hit in the British Virgin Islands, Caribbean.

Sailing to Durban Boat Show 2010
Owners Kevin and Laura Katzke of Yacht "Catatude" and Ian Galacher from Yacht "Jangles" enjoyed a relaxed evening with boat builder Kevin and Rika Fouche prior to sailing to Durban on Sunday 25 April 2010 where they attended the Durban Boat show.
Laying on anchor at Featherbed Bay, captain and crew waited patiently for better conditions before attempting to sail through the Knysna Heads, an area well known for unpredictable conditions. The rest of the sail was slow with almost zero winds and flat seas! They arrived in Durban on Wednesday evening where Grant Sieberts wife Lola awaited them with some Kentucky Fried Chicken!
All our thanks to girls Laura (and Woolworth's!) and Le-Anne for spoiling us on route to Durban!
Launching Jangles Knysna480
We launched this morning in rainy weather! All went well, Southern Spars and Kevin are still busy stepping the mast, etc. Jangles is beautiful and looks very elegant, the 480 has stunning lines, we've had so many compliments this morning! The dark captain navy stripe is a good match for the light grey hull, I will take more photo's tomorrow once the navy blue stack pack & sails are up.
We also took Mike and Debbie's hulls out of the mould this afternoon. Kevin and Jeremy are extremely happy and Clinton our "laminating professor" is very proud!
Tonight we are going to celebrate!
Sailing to Cape Town | 7th March 2010
Written by Kevin Fouche
Yacht Flamingo left the Knysna heads on Saturday afternoon 6 pm on route to Cape Town. Skipper Kevin Fouche with owners Tim and Suzan Mahoney and friend Jeff "the Crew" onboard left in light wind conditions & lots of good food. We motor-sailed the whole night on very flat sea's and plenty of fog till Sunday morning 10 am. We set the spinnaker at this time with a estimated 15 knot wind ( our electronics had gone on the blink so I had no read out's ) The wind picked up around Augulas to approx 25 knots giving us a average speed of 12 to 14 knots on the hand held GPS. We had a few 16's now and then! (Very fast and stable boat)More Articles...
